Embrace Your Originality: A Thanksgiving Tale
Good day, my dear friends. Today, I want to share a story with you, a tale from my past that taught me a valuable lesson about originality. It’s a story that takes place around the warmth of a Thanksgiving dinner, a time when family and friends gather to share gratitude and good food.
The Thanksgiving of ’72
It was the year 1972, a time when life was simpler, yet filled with profound experiences. Our family was preparing for our annual Thanksgiving dinner. As was tradition, everyone was expected to contribute something to the feast. My contribution was always the same – a classic, time-tested pumpkin pie.
A Twist in the Tale
However, that year, I decided to do something different. I wanted to break away from the norm, to bring something new to the table. So, I decided to make a chocolate pumpkin pie. Yes, you heard it right, a chocolate pumpkin pie!
Now, this was met with a fair share of skepticism. Some family members were apprehensive, even critical. They questioned why I would tamper with a classic. But I was determined to see it through.
The Moment of Truth
Thanksgiving arrived, and with it, the moment of truth. As everyone took their first bite of my chocolate pumpkin pie, I held my breath. The room fell silent, and then, a chorus of delight filled the air. The pie was a hit!
The Lesson Learned
That day, I learned a valuable lesson. It’s easy to follow the crowd, to stick with what’s safe and familiar. But there’s a unique joy in being original, in daring to be different. It’s okay to take risks, to experiment, to bring something new to the table. After all, isn’t that what life is all about?
So, my dear friends, I encourage you to embrace your originality. Don’t be afraid to be different. In the end, it’s our uniqueness that makes us who we are.
Until next time, remember to stay true to yourself and keep exploring the world with an open mind and heart.
Signing off,
Kev
